about

A rather long live improvisation. A very meditative piece, I think, at least I found it to be whilst I was recording it.

As I was playing, I was hearing all of these little sounds and voices. I find that dynamics are extremely vital to my music, and my writing. Sometimes the sounds that I record are deliberately right on the edge of audibility, others are much, much louder.

As I record, I'm constantly adjusting my volume, I use a volume pedal to make this easier to do.

Everything on this recording was recorded live in one single take, and was all played on my Overwater 7 string bass.
